Waste Warriors Make Final Round in gen[in] Challenge

Congratulations to our JCU Brisbane team, Waste Warriors who competed in the recent gen[in]student innovation challenge and made it to the final round.

The gen[In] student innovation challenge helps participants establish real-world skills, gain entrepreneurial skills and develop valuable, lifelong connections.

For this challenge, our students worked as a team to develop an innovative idea to redistribute food waste and stem the food wastage that costs the Australian economy more than $20 billion each year with 5 million tonnes of food ending up as landfill.

This was a wonderful achievement made by all of our students and a true reflection of the hard work, dedication and perseverance they displayed. A special acknowledgment is in order for Hely and Kyle who delivered this pitch and Narendra nath Sanyal and Parth Shah for bringing the ThoughtFood idea to life.
