Two-Day IT Design Sprint

Our annual two-day IT design sprint has come to a close. This year our JCU Brisbane IT students were given the task of creating a more functional website for Sarina Russo, one of Australia’s largest national employment and apprentice agencies.

During these two days, students worked as teams to build a mobile and web, website prototype with the assistance and feedback of JCU Brisbane academics and Sarina Russo executives.

The aim of the event was to give students an opportunity to gain practical experience in goal-oriented, collaborative IT system development.

At the end of these two days, Glen Nicholson, Sarina Russo’s Learning and Development Manager, attended the closing ceremony where students presented their prototypes and delivered presentations on the benefits of their designs.

Glen then deliberated with JCU Brisbane academics before deciding the winning group. The winning students were then presented prizes donated from the JCU Brisbane Student Association.

Thank you to JCU Brisbane senior lecturer, Dr. Cue Nguyen, for organising this year’s annual event.
