I Love JCU Brisbane Information Seminar

Today JCU Brisbane hosted a seminar to provide our partners with information about JCU Brisbane. In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, speakers, which included our Senior Associate Dean, discussed what they ‘love about JCU Brisbane’.

Senior Associate Dean Academic, Dr Ashley Orth, and Associate Dean – Business Programs, Dr Ian Kirkwood, who have been academics at JCU Brisbane for 12 and 10 years respectively, highlighted the benefits of not only our location but our size.

“We recognise that we are a small campus and we embrace and appreciate the positive difference this has, not only in the classroom but in ensuring our students have access to the support services they need to achieve in an international study environment,” said Dr Orth.

We also heard from two of our students, Bachelor of Business student and Student Association Vice President, Michelle Joseph, and MIT student, Neha Bisht.

Michelle highlighted the important contribution the JCU Brisbane Student Association has towards creating a university community that is engaged.

In the past 12 months the JCU Brisbane Student Association has brought about significant change including the introduction of new student clubs, the ACS student membership and increased expenditure on tangible amenities that are contributing to the overall student experience.

MIT student Neha highlighted the importance of JCU Brisbane’s partnership with internship placement and career progression specialist, Joblinx. Neha discussed how her hard work, combined with the support of Joblinx, has allowed her to get Australian work experience and further complement the theoretical knowledge she is gaining in her degree.

The seminar was also an opportunity to show our partners where JCU Brisbane ranks on the world stage, recently being voted No.1 in Australia by employers for having the best graduates*, topping the charts 7 years in a row for graduate success** and being in the top 2% of universities worldwide***.

Thank you to those who attended today’s seminar, we hope you found it valuable to learn more about why our people love JCU Brisbane.
