JCU Brisbane Students Shine Light on Brisbane’s Multicultural Diversity

27 eager JCU Brisbane students recently assisted Red Carpet Functions in the Multicultural Parade and Fashion Show for the Buddha Birth Day Festival.

Red Carpet Functions is a local organisation that aims to highlight Brisbane’s diversity through the promotion of up and coming designers, models, performers and artists who wish to showcase their work on a large platform.

For this event, it is estimated over 200,000 visitors were in attendance, making this the largest annual Buddhist Birth Day Festival in the world.*

At JCU Brisbane we strongly believe in the implementation of hands-on learning in all our curriculums and via Joblinx, we aim to give our students as many real word experiences as possible.

For our Master of International Hospitality & Tourism Management students in attendance, this event gave them the opportunity to visualise the practical elements of the theory they had learnt in class and gain invaluable experience

Thank you to our MITHM lecturers Julija Ovnic and Vizak Gagrat and Joblinx’ Juliana Neves Braga for making this possible and a special thank you to Red Carpet Functions Founder, Reena Augustine for inviting our students to be a part of such a diverse and inclusive event.
