International Women’s Day 2021

International Women’s Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women.

For this year’s International Women’s Day (IWD), JCU Brisbane hosted an afternoon tea on campus, powered by the JCU Brisbane Student Association.

Keynote speaker, Ms Reena Augustine (pictured centre screen), delivered an inspirational speech about her journey and gave thanks to all the wonderful people who supported her and uplifted her throughout her life.

Afterwards, Ms Augustine invited several students from the audience to join her in a special cake-cutting ceremony, where they gave thanks and honoured the achievement of all women across the globe.

JCU Brisbane is proud to celebrate International Women’s Day and its bid to create a gender-equal world. Gender equality and workplace diversity creates stronger and more successful workplaces, communities and economies.
