Our first speaker was Ms Reena Augustine who is the Owner of Red Carpet Events in Brisbane. Reena enlightened students about her journey being an event company owner in Brisbane, the challenges of being an entrepreneur and new trends due to Covid 19 in Australia.

Joblinx, Career Counsellor,  Ms Juliana Neves Braga said,

“The BX2094 class: Conference and Event Management Online Webinar was a very informative session for students who have interested to become successful in the Event and Management field.

The guest speaker Reanna Augustine presented an informative presentation on how to become successful in the field. She also shared her knowledge and experience with students with good and detailed information.”

Speaker number 2 was Mr Damcho Rinzin from Bhutan, who is the PR and Marketing Manager for Tourism Council of Bhutan. He is a former JCU student and works for the DMO in Bhutan and spoke to students about trends in global tourism and future of tourism industry post Covid-19. He discussed trends such as travel bubble, travel patterns and policy agreements between countries.

With the current world events, webinars like this provide our students with the ability to continue engaging with professionals in their fields. It gives them the ability to expand on the theory they have learned in class and apply this knowledge to real-world situations from the comfort of their computer, whether that be at home or university.

This event was organised by JCU Brisbane Lecturer, Mr Vizak Gagrat.
