Event Management Seminar

The MITHM lecturers Julija Ovnic and Vizak Gagrat, along with Juliana from Joblinx helped organised the Event Management Seminar on campus on Monday 29th April 2019. We had invited Ms. Reena Augustine, founder of Red Carpet Functions to present to the students about her journey from being an international student to owner of an Event Management company. Ms Reena enlightened the students about the ups and downs of her journey and what it is to be a part of the event industry. She showcased all the lovely work she does in her Multicultural events at various platforms across the world, including the Award Winning Fashion Shows. The students of Bachelor of Business (major in Tourism and Hospitality) and Masters of International Tourism and Hospitality, were both present in class for the seminar. The students were left inspired and gained a lot of knowledge from this seminar.

One of the massive focus area that the MITHM lecturers believe in is “Real World Learning”. Every term Julija and Vizak alongside Joblinx help organise various field trips, guest talks and seminars, discussion platforms with professionals from industry, and work experience opportunities. Once again this was a successful and sold out Tourism and Hospitality Event.
