CISA National Conference 2019 – Prism of Possibilities

A group of fervent JCU Brisbane Student Association executives recently represented JCU Brisbane at the 2019 Council of International Students Australia (CISA) Conference in Perth. CISA is the national peak student representative organisation for international students studying at the postgraduate, undergraduate, private college, TAFE, ELICOS and foundation level.

During this visit, the group attended multiple workshops, networked with other student leaders, executives, government representatives and academic professionals and give feedback to CISA executives to develop strategies and positions on a range of topics currently facing the international student sector.

CISA executives for 2019/2020 were also voted in during this conference and our very own JCUBSA president, Mili Mishra was elected as National Public Relations Officer. Mili stated, “I’m honoured to get elected for the crucial role of National Public Relations Officer in CISA.  The moment when results were announced was overwhelming and thrilling at the same. I look forward to this performing my best during my tenure”.

JCU Brisbane along with the JCU Brisbane Student Association (JCUBSA) is committed to the development of the international education sector in Australia, and through conferences like this we hope to continue empowering international students and celebrating their contribution to the Australian community.

Thank you to JCUBSA for funding this expedition and Mili Mishra, Ravikiran Vogali, Vishnu Rohit Grandhi and Sachet for representing JCU Brisbane at the 2019 CISA Conference.
