Hospitality Management
The Hospitality industry encompasses areas as diverse as hotels, resorts, restaurants, clubs, casinos, conference venues and cruise ships. Hospitality studies at JCU have been designed to provide students with the knowledge & understanding of fundamental business principles in relation to the hospitality industry. Students can study hospitality as a major within the business degree. Students will be equipped to meet the exciting opportunities that the tourism and hospitality industry can offer, not only in Australia but internationally. The Bachelor of Hospitality Management degree is accredited by the Hotel and Catering International Management Association and graduates can apply for membership. The significance and gravity of workplace legislation such as workplace, health and safety and equal employment opportunity have increased demand for experienced human resource specialists. The School of Business offers an undergraduate major in HRM. HRM can also be studied as part of an MBA or a PhD.
