English Language Requirements


Students whose native language is not English must generally demonstrate their proficiency by achieving a score in a test such as IELTS or TOEFL (see table below). Other examples of English Language tests, including the Combined Universities Language Test (CULT) and the Cambridge English Language Test, may be accepted as proof of English language proficiency. In some cases students who have successfully completed two years of full time study in which the language of instruction was English may satisfy the English requirement. To be considered, the study must have been undertaken no more than two years prior to the date of offer of a place at JCUB. Students must provide a certificate or statement issued by the Registrar's office of that institution confirming this.

Students who meet academic entry requirements but not the English entry requirements outlined in the table below, may be offered a place in the following bridging courses through Sarina Russo Schools Australia - Russo English Australia:


 

English Language Entry Requirements for JCUB Courses

IELTS 6.0 (no component lower than 5.5)
TOEFL (paper based) 550 (with a minimum Test of Written English score of 4.0)
TOEFL (computer based) 213 (with an essay rating of at least 4.0)
BEEP * Direct Entry to JCU Degrees Successful completion of 10-week block
