OVERVIEW

Postgraduate studies in Information Technology are available at Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma and Master level with a E-business major.  The joint degree, Master of Information Technology-Master of Business Administration, is also available.

The E-Business major is designed to provide a mix of business & marketing skills, multimedia production and support skills and computer networking skills.  It provides a path for business, commerce and other non-computer science/information technology graduates, as well as for CS/IT graduates, seeking to move into IT management roles in IT/E-Business intensive industries such as finance, banking and retailinng , and online selling.

The programs can include preparation for industry certification, including Cisco (CCNA) and Oracle.

In the final trimester, high performing students, subject to meeting performance criteria, may choose to take up an Industry Internship as an alternative to a classroom based subject.

English Language Entry Requirements

You must provide evidence of English proficiency if English is not your first language.
  • IELTS: A minimum overall score of 6.0, with a minimum score of at least 5.5 in each component
  • TOEFL: A minimum score of 550, with a Test of Written English score of at least 4.0; or a computer-based score of 213 with an essay rating of at least 4.0; or an internet based score of 79 with a minimum writing score of 19.
  • Alternative pathways that provide equivalent levels of English
Results must be less than two years old at the time of application.
 
Academic Entry Qualifications
  • Graduate Certificate & Graduate Diploma of IT & MIT-MBA

An undergraduate degree in any discipline or other qualifications deemed equivalent; or evidence of professional experience that meets the approval of the Head of School of Faculty.

Where IT background is inadequate (does not include multimedia, database, "C" and "C++" or JAVA) additional undergraduate preparatory subjects may be required, and then the MIT (Ext) or MIT (Ext)-MBA must be taken.

As per Master of IT or other approved relevant qualifications (typically a 3-year full time Diploma in IT) and/or IT work experience.
 
Advanced Standing Credit

JCUB recognises advanced standing credit for equivalent studies at an equivalent level from Australian or overseas universities.  The credit is determined after receipt of application.
