Internship Program

Internships provide host organisations with an opportunity to utilise resources at no cost. By partnering with JCU Brisbane, organisations can host interns to complete research or unfinished projects at no cost. Internships are a prime opportunity to bring new life into the business and an opportunity to gain a global business perspective through interns from different cultural backgrounds. With the usual time frame of between 12 -14 weeks, based on 20 hours per week, interns can gain experience in a professional work environment while providing valuable assistance in research and projects selected by the host organisation. Test drive future employees through the JCU Brisbane Internship Program!

Program Structure

  • Contact Period
Each internship comprises of a period of 12 to 14 weeks of contact and preparation time. This is based on 20 hours of work per week. Only students enrolled in the Masters program at JCUB are eligible for entry into the internship program.

  • Letter of Motivation
Students submit a comprehensive letter of motivation addressing their objectives for an internship, detailing how this program will relate to their studies. A thorough picture of the student's knowledge, skills set and interest areas is derived from this information.

  • Screening Process
Students then go through a screening process conducted by the Internship Program Manager. A private journal is maintained by the students as part of an ongoing compilation of work evidence for their portfolio. This journal may be submitted to JCUB and feedback may be provided to both the student and host organisation as necessary.
