"Edutainment" with MITHM TO5104 Students

Last week the MITHM students studying Tourist Management Strategies were taken out for a field trip during their mid-term break to Mount Coot-tha as a part of their education and learning experience.

Lecturers Niki Macionis and Vizak Gagrat strongly believe that “Edutainment” is the best way to learn about tourism and hence it was important that the students have out of classroom experience as a part of their learning. The students had the chance to put their auditing and evaluation skills learnt in class into practice while visiting the Mt Cooth-tha summit, the Brisbane Botanical Gardens and Brisbane Planetarium.

Overall the students had a good opportunity to not only visit the sites but also put all the theoretical knowledge to actual application.
