Examination Timetable
It is important to remember that
all students are required to attend examinations as scheduled in
the official examination timetable. Students are advised to check
the examination timetables and notify any examination
clashes.
If you organise return tickets or a holiday while you are in
Australia, it is important to remember not to make travel
arrangements that could coincide with the University's official
examination period. Policy set by James Cook University's Academic
Board states that exams are to be sat at the scheduled time. The
Board's policy does not allow for students to sit exams in advance,
or to have special exams set. The specified exam period that starts
on Tuesday 14th June and end on Friday 24th June is regarded
as part of the Academic Year and students are expected to sit exams
in those periods.
A student who is unable to sit an exam due to extenuating
circumstances should apply for a deferred exam. The Head of School
has the right to decline an application (whether or not the
examiner is willing to set another paper) if he considers the
reasons are less than exceptional. For additional information on
examinations at JCU, please refer to www.jcu.edu.au/studying/exams/.
Please use the services and facilities on Level 2 who have trained professionals to assist you with your studies.
